1. FLAMENCO NOVEAU
2001
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 26 x 15 x 9 inches
Edition of 25
Flamenco Noveau
Music is the poetry of sound. It is what inspires us to move and to see sound in its primordial beauty. It is the Gypsies from the south of Spain that created this improvised music day by day since their arrival to Spain in the 15th century. Music was very important in their celebrations and everyday life. All they needed to start to make music was a voice, and they soon started to add rhythms with their hands and feet. They liked improvisation and virtuosity . Often quoted as saying "it's in the blood," to the gypsies Flamenco was song. Flamenco was music. Flamenco was dance. Flamenco was feeling. Flamenco was life... love... pain... rage... passion...
2. MOONLIGHT SONATA
1997
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 16 x 16 x 8 inches
Edition of 25
Moonlight Sonata
The Piano Sonata No.14 in C-sharp minor by Ludwig van Beethoven was written
and dedicated to his pupil, 17-year-old Countess Giuletta Guicciardi, with whom
he was or had been in love. I listened to the music as I sculpted this piece, trying
to find the rhythm in the clay. The first movement of the Moonlight Sonata is easily the most well known. The famous mysterious, almost haunting melody is dark and whisper like. It goes through so many changes up and down and yet balanced. It brought to mind two people who are trying to be in love: juggling the dark and light emotions of human nature.
3. SWEPT AWAY
1995
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 16 x 16 x 8 inches
Edition of 25
Swept Away
…By your love, your body, your laugh, your strength….
Swept Away
…By your smile, your tenderness, your touch….
Swept Away
….By your hands lifting me up…By my hands lifting you up….
Swept Away
…together through space to light to love.
4. THE CONDUCTOR
1997
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 14 x 16 x 8 inches
Edition of 25
The Conductor
The conductor’s motive is to translate the music of a composer
into a language that is easily read by an audience.
I love to watch a conductor that lets the music move through
his body and the rhythm of the composition becomes visible
through his own physical notation. The conductor becomes a living
vessel of sound.
5. THE FIDDLER
1996
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 13 x 15 x 9 inches
Edition of 25
The Fiddler
When I was about eighteen I was on a road trip and came across a
state fair in Wyoming. There was a young man playing a fiddle.
I was mesmerized by his unabashed passion for his instrument.
It was as if he was amplifying his own soul. I had never heard
a fiddle being played with such intensity. I sketched him on
the spot and later did a series of drawings than many years later
sculpted the image and cast it into a limited edition simply titled
The Fiddler.
6. THROUGH PABLO'S EYES
2002
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 10 x 9 x 9 inches
Edition of 25
Through Pablo's Eyes
This sculpture was inspired by the Picasso’s The Old Guitarist.
The man is thin and skeleton like symbolizing the poverty he is experiencing.
He holds a large guitar and the instrument fills the space around the solitary figure.
I wanted this figure to be strong in his own space, as though he possess powers
of inner vision.
It’s not life that matters, it’s the courage that we bring to it.
7. THE JAZZMAN
1996
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 13 x 15 x 9 inches
Edition of 25
Jazz Man
Many years ago my husband turned me onto Jazz.
He use to try to explain why it was so cool and different
than other music. He would put on some great jazz and then
act it out by playing air sax or guitar. It was light and fun.
Then he took me to see John Klemmer when we were in Washington
one summer and I fell in love with jazz. We use to sit and listen
to John Klemmer’s touch and fall in love all over again and again.
Jazz is cool. Jazz is free, uninhibited and full of love. Jazz is seductive.
8. BASSMAN
1993
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 13 x 12 x 9 inches
Edition of 25
Bassman
When Chick Corea’s jazz fusion group came out with Return to Forever
I heard Stanley Clarke for the first time and I felt like I was listening
to the Earth’s heartbeat. I then followed some of his solo career and
always held the same thoughts and emotions when hearing his double bass playing
and that thought and emotion was always infused with excitement. This was the vibe
when I created Bassman which is also carried thorough in C Loves Jazz the lifesize
version of this sculpture.
9. DRUM SONG
1996
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 13 x 15 x 9 inches
Edition of 25
Drum Song
The first sound a baby hears in the womb in the heartbeat of the Mother. About ten years ago I read a book by Layne Redmond called When the Drummers Were Women. It focuses on understanding the ancient Goddess relgions where drumming was used as a medium of communication and spirituality and as a way of exploring human consciousness in connection to the surrounding world. The drum represents the universal heartbeat of our Mother Earth the universal mother to us all.
10. THE RUNNER
1995
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 12 x 15 x 8 inches
Edition of 25
The Runner
One early morning back in 1972 I had just graduated from High School and was
on an extended road trip with my boyfriend, (now my husband) we were just getting up and stretching when out of nowhere came this man running. His movement was like music, like upbeat noise, his breath was the beat and his legs the instrument. He was so free and yet so disciplined. His body was like a well trained athlete and you could almost see his soul and his will power moving together and keeping up this zestful rhythm. I never forgot this image. It was beautiful and inspired The Runner.
11. TI AMO

Ti Amo
During my forties I developed a back problem that did not seem to go away.
I stopped sculpting for awhile and just tried to practice gentle yoga and meditation.
Finally my husband asked when I was going to start sculpting again, at the time I did not know how to answer him, I did not feel physically strong enough. So one day he took me into my studio and there on the walls were notes I had written to myself for years about how I loved art and the process of it, he read everyone aloud to me and I noticed he had cleaned all of my tools and had a piece I had started months ago sitting on my sculpting table, so I finished the piece after a few adjustments, and called it My Sweetheart, or in Italian Ti Amo. The sculpture conveys a dance where the lovers hold each other stable while moving in sync. By the time I finished the sculpture my backache was gone.

13. PASSION DANCE
2004
Size: Tabletop
Cast bronze 16 x 10 x 10 inches
Edition of 25
Passion Dance
The dance, always a play on the rhythm, the joy, the breath, the simpatico between
two people. What motivates the dance in the beginning? It is that pure quality of passion,
the urge to unite yourself with another human. To taste the moment of seduction with
uninhibited faith that this person will take you where no one ever has before.
This is the dance of life.

15. ENDLESS CELEBRATION
2005
Size: Tabletop Maquette
Cast bronze 43 x 8 x 8 inches
Edition of 75
Endless Celebration
This was the maquette for the fifty one foot Endless Celebration.
Edward Brown once said, “The artist has one function to affirm and glorify life.” To understand the dynamics of this piece please refer to the essay by Duncan Simcoe Under Cocteau Essay.
16. POWER OF LOVE
2005
Size: Midsize
Cast bronze 64 x 30 x 24 inches
Edition of 25
Power of Love
"I like to play with balance, to investigate gravity and then to try and defy it with my sculptures." The space that surrounds us can of ten define how we see the world. In Power of Love the balance is one of trust and respect, and though it seems precarious the balance is just right, a metaphor for so many relationships both with people and the earth.
17. LOVE'S DIVINE
2005
Size: Large Tabletop
Cast bronze 25 x 26 x 10 inches shown on front
Edition of 25
Love’s Divine
“Love is a friendship set to music.”
When we love someone with every fiber of our being we realize as Joseph Cambell once said that “the realization of love is to be nature’s noblest work”.
Love is the highest spiritual experience.
This limited edition bronze has graced hospitals and private homes and gardens.
18. SERENITY
2006
Size: Large Tabletop
Cast bronze 23 x 114 x 8 inches
Edition of 25
Serenity
Serenity is a disposition free from stress or emotion.
Serenity is rare and only found by living in the present moment.
When we experience the ‘now’ we are not bound by the present or
the future. Experiencing the moment is pure and simple and real.
I dedicated this sculpture to myself as a reminder to breathe.
19. MY BELOVED
2006
Size: Large Tabletop
Cast bronze 26 x 15 x 16 inches
Edition of 25
My Beloved
This sculpture represents the love that
binds two people together.
My intention for this sculpture was to show
that though we find our most intimate moments
In being close to another person, there is strength
In the space that surrounds us.
If you look you can see a heart outlined by
The negative space of the sculpture.
20. DA BRAVA MADRE (Good Mother)

On Children
Kahlil Gibran
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let our bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

Lifesize Through Pablo's Eyes

22. RAPTURE
2006
Size: Midsize
Cast Bronze: 68 x 22 x 34
Edition of 18
Rapture
What is more beautiful than the feelings of love?
Passionate love that flows with electricity and joy.
This is the feeling of elevation,
knowing that your love lifts you up into a sky
full of light, trust and friendship.
23. SOPHIE LOVES JAZZ
2006
Size: Tabletop
Cast Bronze: 19 x 13 x 8
Edition of 25
Sophie Loves Jazz
Sophie is our Maine Coon cat who thinks she is a human.
She is in love with my husband and because he loves jazz
she too can often be found sitting at the bar with Carl at night
listening to his favorite jazz tunes.
I always think if she were to turn into a human this sculpture is what she would look like
perhaps reclining on a piano and singing some Ella Fitzgerald.
24. C LOVES JAZZ
2006
Size: Lifesize
Cast bronze 76 x 43 x 18
Edition of 12
C Loves Jazz
When Chick Corea’s jazz fusion group came out with Return to Forever I heard Stanley Clarke
for the first time and I felt like I was listening to the Earth’s heartbeat. I then followed some of
his solo career and always held the same thoughts and emotions when hearing his double bass
playing and that thought and emotion was always infused with excitement.
C Loves Jazz is the lifesize version of Bassman, I called it C Loves Jazz because my husband Carl
whom we refer to fondly as 'C' can often be found listening to jazz throughout the night.
His love for Jazz is brilliant and contagious.
25. ODE TO LOVE
2006
Size: Lifesize
Cast Bronze: 81 x 64 x 32
Edition of 12
Ode to Love
Ode to Love is a freeze framed sculpture of those moments I have
with my husband that are fun and delicious. The moments when he and I can dance with one another and take a vacation from the rush of life. It is that time you feel you can lift one another’s spirit with joy and uninhibited pleasure. The dance becomes a metaphor for your love.
