Movement is the dance of being alive. Every living organism moves in accordance with their environment and nervous system. When you see the long distance runner you know there is a rhythm they find, a stress free world with hormones calming their system and giving them an edge. I think the idea that you are completely drained physically, mentally and emotionally with a strong sense of accomplishment is what motivates the runner. We are all running, to something, from something, for something. So in this sense ‘The Runner’ is symbolic for simply being alive!
