When Chick Corea’s jazz fusion group came out with ‘Return to Forever’I heard Stanley Clarke for the first time and I felt like I was listening to the Earth’s heartbeat. I then followed some of his solo career and always held the same thoughts and emotions when hearing his double bass playing and that thought and emotion was always infused with excitement. This was the emotion when I created Bassman which is also carried thorough in C Loves Jazz the life size version of this sculpture.
