Rapture is a sculpture representing the idea that intimacy can only be achieved through tension. There is a place where our hearts find one another. It is in the balance of our emotions. A tree must have deep roots sustaining it for the flower or the fruit to bloom. In life and in love we thrive when we can play both the ‘grounded’ and the ‘in flight’ parts of our relationships. When we allow ourselves to encompass being loved in this way we find rapture. We find ourselves enveloped in one another’s warmth and devotion. Love is often not just about allowing your partner to fly but literally lifting them up and watching them ascend. To play a part in each other’s emotions is to stand strong and to fly all at the same time.
