Refund policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
This Return and Refund Policy applies to purchases made directly through gessococteau.com. Different rules apply to digital books, printed books, bronze sculpture, and custom work. Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Before sending anything back
All physical returns require advance authorization. Email gessococteau@gmail.com with the order number and reason for the request. Do not send a return without authorization; the correct return address and instructions will be provided after approval.
ePubs and digital books
Because an ePub is delivered electronically, it is final sale once the download link has been delivered or accessed. We will correct a duplicate charge, replace a corrupted or unusable file, or assist when the purchased file was not delivered. If we cannot remedy a verified delivery or file problem, we will provide an appropriate replacement or refund. Contact us promptly and, when possible, within 7 days of purchase.
Printed books
An ordinary printed book may be returned within 30 days after delivery if it is unused, unread, undamaged, and in its original condition. Personalized inscriptions, made-to-order books, and items clearly marked final sale cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or incorrect.
For a discretionary return, the purchaser is responsible for return shipping. Original shipping charges are not refundable. If the book arrived damaged or the wrong item was sent, contact us with photographs and we will arrange the appropriate replacement, return, or refund.
Tabletop bronze sculpture
An undamaged tabletop bronze may be considered for return when the request is made within 14 days after delivery and the work remains in its original condition. Authorization is required. The purchaser is responsible for insured return shipping and professional repacking or crating. Original shipping, crating, handling, installation, and delivery charges are not refundable. The refund is issued only after the work is received and inspected.
Mid-size and life-size bronze sculpture
Mid-size and life-size bronze sales are final once foundry work, preparation, crating, freight scheduling, customization, or installation planning has begun. Before that point, a cancellation request will be reviewed individually and may be reduced by documented, nonrecoverable costs already incurred. This does not affect remedies for a work that arrives damaged, is materially different from the order, or was sent in error.
Custom, commissioned, and personalized work
Custom, commissioned, personalized, altered, or made-to-order work is final sale. Deposits become nonrefundable when design, materials, foundry, fabrication, or other commissioned work begins, as described in the written agreement. Damage, nonconformity, and other project-specific remedies are governed by that agreement and applicable law.
Damage or incorrect items
Inspect physical deliveries promptly. Report visible or concealed damage, missing items, or an incorrect item within 5 calendar days of delivery. Retain the item, crate, box, and all packing materials, and send clear photographs. For freight deliveries, note visible damage on the carrier’s delivery record when possible.
Refund timing
After an authorized return is received and inspected, we will notify you whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within 10 business days. Your bank or card provider may need additional processing time.
Sale items and gift cards
Items specifically marked final sale and gift cards are not returnable except where required by law or when the item arrives damaged or incorrect.
